Peace?

(Reflection on the Documentary Film)
I have the power that I never dreamed of and I can do things I never thought I could. I can stand almost all adversities and overcome obstacles. These dimensions inflame my enthusiasm.  Please lend me your ears, hear my little voice and consider my claim.
Upon seeing the documentary film, it made me to take a glimpse of my past and reflect of what I can possibly do for this peace. Non violence is at stake.
From that time, I had already this disposition that the knowledge I acquired in schools provides means to learn how to live, to believe, to dream and to live peacefully. As years progress, I grow, become mature and it corresponds greater responsibility. In my journey as a person, I have so many realizations that sometimes linger me to fears and doubts. I am amenable that I will take the hard road, several leaps and bounds, stumble over to every stone, encounter storms, buffeted by the winds and falter in darkness. In the numerous facets and avenues of sex-laden media, struggle for the ancestral domain issue, environmental destruction, presence of large scale mining, development aggression, corruption, racial discrimination and even unstable peace and order are just some concerns that affect youth formation and I can painstakingly aware of it. Yes, this is the reality. Wake up my dear! Where are we now? Is this what we want to live today and to the day ahead? If then, how do we respond on this predicament?
Thinking of my dreams, maybe your dreams as well, truly inspires me to be optimistic, to be at my best. I don’t want that this dream will just last as a dream. I will not let my world, my dream of peaceful sleep to be swallowed by these tremendous detractors. I will take these as challenges to conquer, as lessons to learn, downs that will teach me to get up and failures that will shape me to be strong and firm. This will guide me to my vision of building a culture of peace.
In our context nowadays, I can say that the government in response to the call of transformation for harmony and peace takes several actions and best efforts in solving this quandary we are in. Other facet of peace initiative and formal peace talk made urgent. How does it work? Or the question is, does it work? My reader, sincerity is at stake in this sense and will lead this collaboration a success.
In building this world we most aspire of is not just the task of somebody in authority. It is my task, your task, our task. It is my dream, your dream, our dream and we are responsible to work for it, pursue it, live it, do it. As a simple student, I try to involve myself in my own little ways. Being faithful to my studies, giving respect to my classmates and being responsible to my duties are my positive response in shaping my vision and living my dream reaching towards the culture of peace I aspire of.
Consequently, it is a challenge to you, to all of us. Peace is possible. We must pursue non violence. We need long term peace. Never give up as long as we know we are right. Be courageous and optimistic in the faces of the odds. Never surrender to discouragement. Go! We are born to win. Go! Be a doer. Go! Affirm to the truth. Get up and empower ourselves in shaping the vision, living the dream towards building the culture of peace.

How Did Delta Weather the Bumpy Storms of Change?

Great leadership mobilizes people. This leadership may work possibly to make and uplift the organization with the aid of good and appropriate management skills. It involves in guiding the activities of the members in appropriate directions. An appropriate direction is any direction that helps the organization moves forward toward goal attainment. It is also a way to inform the organization where you are going, getting in front and keeping your flock on the move. Moreover, optimism and great confidence are deportment being manifested towards the end, success.

CEO Gerarld Grinstein of Delta Air Lines is an open minded person. He has this astounding conceptual skill as a manager that allows him to be an effective one. He perseveres in looking backward and forward, as a whole the business he held. The assessment which he thinks of, considering the possible consequences, taking risk and putting action on it is just superficial elements that we can grasp which we presumed more than that he possessed. Acceptance of the reality also has of big help on his failing towards going upward. He managed to settle down the tidal waves he encountered. This manifested that he as manager truly act according to his role, to sustain, to encounter opposition, to experience passion, to make decisions and not just drift with the tide. He dares to make a difference. He did. He learned. He succeeds.

You cannot control time. But you can control how you plan and budget time by accurately predicting how long this takes. In planning, the team assured that delivering strategic value of time by setting target date for the firm to emerge. Focusing in planning, it serves a great significant role to avoid long and costly litigation of bankruptcy. Knowing how long things take is a skill that will help you take control the business and even your life as well. Moreover, your colleagues and your team will appreciate your ability to set realistic goals – and meet them. Building a dynamic organization is a necessary task. It will focus and commit themselves on the attainment of goals that will lead to organization’s success responsibly. Tasking, giving of information, assigning of roles to be acted upon and even willingness to accept responsibility and accountability are expected and seemed to be good elements that the Delta Air Lines responded to. Its design is made to clarify what to do, who is responsible, which task and who is responsible for the results. The proper adherence of dissemination is much important. This would be done just like Delta Air Lines did in order to renounce obstacles to the performance caused by confusion and uncertainty of assignment and to furnish decision making and communication networks reflecting and supporting organizational objectives.

Make sure everyone has a map. In mobilizing people, in leading as what the CEO did, it is important that the goal is clear, that the purpose is properly responded upon. If everyone has a map, it doesn’t matter whether or not you get separated. You will still end up at the same destination.
People are free to make vision or minor course changes along the way – they will still end up in the right place. Just like in the case of such, the approach on speed is deliberately presented to the team. The way the CEO led them was very ideal. The unity and the synergy of purpose are being manifested. Self-sacrifice by pay cuts creates and posits solidarity among and between employer and employees. At every level, in this sense, having a map works to guide better business.

Learning and changing what is usually done, making innovations and dare to make a difference are best assets of mind set that we can possess in controlling the business in her downturn. As Delta Air Lines showed, instead of succumbing, the organization strives hard to bring back the firm in the arena of market in fast speed. The call of changing the approach on that predicament to speed up led the organization to success. Playing their strengths as well as recognizing their weaknesses is a good formula to follow. One added advantage of playing to your strengths is that they are often where their passions lie. Focusing on your passions will help you push through potential barriers and stay energized when things are difficult. And it makes work a lot more fun.

TEACHERS’ AND STUDENTS’ PERCEPTIONS ON THE INFLUENCE OF DISCIPLINE ON ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

Learning does not occur a vacuum. Teachers play a major interactive role w/ both the learners and the learning environment. There are many educational relevant variables contribute to make this possible. The motivations of the learners to learn and the teachers to teach, orientation toward learning and the capacity of the learners are just some variables to consider. Moreover, the use of the state-of-the-art technologies and conventional instructional practices which includes methods, strategies, and techniques has a great impact on the learning process, as to achieve high academic achievement to both teachers and learners. The classroom environment as well takes a significant part on this endeavor wherein discipline is mostly widely used.

Discipline is widely regarded by most educators and the public alike as the number one problem in schools (Yambao & Esmane, 2008). Even though administrators and teachers alike view discipline as their number one problem, newly graduated teachers still feel woefully unprepared for the task awaiting them when they start first teaching job. There is a plethora of opinions on classroom discipline and systems available from which to choose.
Glasser(1984) states that the control is necessary for the psychological balance in once life. It is a common trait of human beings to want control in their lives. In schools, this is carried to such an extent that discipline itself is often seen as synonymous with control.”In schools, the most widely and practiced interpretation of the word discipline in control”

The main stimulus for pursuing this reading comes from the researcher’s observation on how this discipline influences the academic achievement of the learners as to seek the perceptions of both teachers and students. Moreover, to find out the best practices on discipline that could alleviate academic performance of the learners and strategies of the teachers has added to the motivation of the researcher in this present condition of education.

Upon reading and studying it, the teachers and instructors will help to understand the weaknesses of the students in the mode of the disciplinary action being implemented in class and therefore, choose the right technique that suits to students needs and to achieve instructional goals related to their weaknesses. The students will become more aware of their behaviors in class, in the school community and even in their homes; thereby enabling them to exert effort in following the standard behavior requires them to be in such. The school administrator will formulate activities and programs in improving and enriching the school Discipline Program to alleviate the academic achievement of the students.

Discipline is essential variable in achieving positive and effective teaching-learning outcome among the learners on their academic performance. A teacher needs to consider how to guide the learners in learning through the standard discipline present in the learning environment.

Classroom management is a necessary condition for effective student learning. The school climate established by the educators can have a major impact on learners’ motivation and attitude towards learning. As Khuluse (2009) states that the skills involved in establishing a positive classroom climate are immense of importance. Clearly, learners need order in the classroom if the activities, which take place, are to facilitate effective learning. The most important to bear in mind in considering discipline, is that creating the necessary order is more to do with the skills involved in effective teaching in general than it is to with how one deals with learner behavior itself. In essence, skillful teaching lies at the heart of establishing discipline.

Cawood and Gibbon (1981:293) regard discipline as the willingness to learn from someone and to be influenced by him. So discipline plays a vital role in the academic achievement of the learner especially in secondary school. As the learner is in a very influential stage when in secondary school, various stakeholders are essential in the achievement of the learner. Many factors contribute towards the discipline of a learner such as the peer pressure, family background, financial status at home, as well as the school situation (Sonn, 1999:21).
The main aim of education is to develop the learner towards adulthood. This is possible with the help of effective discipline. According to Khoza (2001:1) schools should be supported to be safe havens where education and learning can flourish. A good image of the learner and the school occurs through good discipline. Being exemplary and being a role model needs a good discipline which is why Sonn (1999:21) sees discipline as being about self respect, and respect to others.
Being prepared for the outside world can be achieved by effective discipline. Stankosky (2005:3) states that knowledge management has significance and it must be elevated to its own academic discipline with the accompanying theoretical construents, guiding principles and professional society to serve as an evolutionary thrust.

Joubert and Prinsloo (2001:124) state that a code of conduct in school plays a leading role in the creation and the implementation of good discipline. That is why, responsibility on this matter becomes more effective if there is good discipline. A learner can be delegated if he is disciplined. According to Lorenz (1986:2) orderliness, guidance and effective discipline plays a significant role in giving learners direction so as to reach or achieve the expected goals and objectives in their formal schooling. The targeted academic achievement is easily achieved if there is good discipline at school.

If the learner is well disciplined he has a direction in life. A learner knows what to do at what time. A leaner should also know his destination and which steps he needs to take in order to reach his destination. The continual conduct (Walters, 1992:28) being enriched on mental, emotional and moral level. Ehlers (1981:25) states the major problem in any school is to balance orderliness and direction in the instructional program against realities of human diversity and curriculum variety. He also stated that human diversity is a fact of life even in the most isolated cultures.

The following characteristics of effective discipline are cited by Joubert and Prinsloo (2001:122-123):
1.      Discipline is used to create order. Effective discipline ensures that human activities in daily process of education takes place orderly. The willful and the wayward behavior of each individual are consequently checked by discipline.
2.      Discipline ensures fairness. Fair protection of the respective interests of the various participants and interested parties within the education system is essential. The disciplined learner is able to differentiate what is appropriate and what is not appropriate.
3.      Discipline protects the leaner. In an orderly environment discipline protects the leaner against unruly and undisciplined behavior of his fellow learners. It also protects a learner against his own waywardness.
4.      Discipline contributes to the spiritual development of the learner.
5.      Discipline is prospective.
6.      Discipline should be directed primarily at correction.

On one hand, Emmer, Sanford and Warsham (1984:102) highlight obedience, full participation, harmony, politeness and loyalty as the characteristics of effective discipline.
On the other hand, rudeness, chronic violence, fighting, other aggressive behavior and defiance and hostility towards the teacher are characteristics of poor discipline as highlighted by Emmer, Sanford and Warsham (1984:103).
Lewis and Doorlay (1995:95) emphasize that if the educators themselves are well disciplined and understand their work as well as their learners and possible challenges, there could be only good results in academic achievement. Educators are exemplary and know their work and understand the learners are working with them. So learners will be in a good position to achieve academically as there are educators who have self respect and understanding. Moreover, if self respect prevails in the school situation, learners will learn self discipline. If there is self discipline, there are more chances of having direction in the fulfillment of the learners’ goal so positive academic achievement is possible (Sonn, 1999:21).
In addition, if discipline is present at school and the parent at home is also aware of good discipline at school and it is also applied at home, this is a good recipe for good academic achievement because what is applied at school is also applied at home. There is no difference between the school environment and the home environment (Visser, 1999:435). Indeed, there should be partnership between parents and educators in effective discipline.
If the school is well facilitated and the needs of the learners are catered for, there will be good academic achievement. This can also be improved by the availability of resources, relevant educators, enough learning space when is conducive, relevant teaching style and clear code of conduct. Willis and Williams (1984:4) state that discipline involves all stakeholders and programmes as well as personality and school climate. So the availability of the aforementioned creates good discipline and the school’s self image is good. The academic results again are achieved with little challenges.
Thus, the significant role of discipline must be clear to the learners and educators so as to achieve high academic performance. Characteristics of effective discipline should always be acknowledged so that the need of effective discipline should be understood by each and every learner at school. Teachers should be aware of the causes of misbehaviors so that in their counter measures should know exactly which are applicable. Learners should be aware about the relationship between discipline and academic achievements and also be aware that effective discipline results in good academic achievements.

Battle Towars Nation's Destiny

A cliché states that “Destiny is not a matter of chance but it is a matter of choice.” That is why we Filipinos are really striving for the better future, dreaming of the highest star and aiming for supreme goodness for the betterment of our Mother land.

It is not peculiar to us, where in fact it is banal scenario we usually experience during election. We heard several and innumerable promises that will somehow elate our senses in its peak satisfaction which we actually the things we wanted to hear. We intent to anticipate the good things may happen to our lives upon heeding on their conceited promises. We carried away with the words they uttered. The flattery that something enlivens our minds and hearts to believe were basically present during the campaign. Is this a kind of sophistry? Are we going to believe them again? I am referring to those who wanted to lead our destiny in the acme of success – the politicians. They always promise us of good things, of peaceful community, of moral leadership and governance and of just and humane society. Many Filipinos tagged that politicians are part already of the dirty game in the arena of politics. It seems to be an upset to those who aimed and motivated to be the servant leader of the masses. But we cannot blame the people for it is only the way they respond from the experiences they had in the past. It provokes the learning experience made them numb because of some undertakings and perspectives of those politicians chased to toil the destruction of rational and just governance. The masses now are yearning for ideal nation with leaders who acted according to the law of man and the law of God not just only an intuition or in superficial supremacy.

Last May 10, 2010, we Filipinos decided again of whom we are going to elect as leaders of our nation. We made another dreadful decision, but still optimism remains in us that some of these days we can have peaceful night sleep not mending for tomorrow’s necessities for we can survive and able to encompass it. We are dreaming of the life free from scarcity, poverty, graft and corruption. It is just thinking of assurance that leaders will not be involved anymore or in some other sense maybe diminish corruption in the lineage of our government sector. Taking our rights of suffrage, we are hoping that many Filipinos will build this nation for a better place to live in here and now and for the generation to come. We decided our way to our decisive vision. We chose our leaders to guide our way in conquering it.  We involved ourselves in fighting for someone worthy to govern us as one nation. And now is the time that we must stand for it that upon making this decision, we also commit ourselves to be a part of building this nation. We must not only bystanders of what will happen to us and leave all those responsibilities to our government leaders; instead we must be an active member of our complex society taking and performing our duties and responsibilities with utmost sensibility.

Not so long ago, the verdict of the masses turned to proclaim Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III as the 15th President of the Republic of the Philippines. It was a new persona of Noynoy Aquino submitting his whole self to service not just a shadow of his parents but a vanguard leading the people for the progress of this nation. This is another journey for us Filipinos. We will wait for the changes may come. Change is that this new government aims to carry out this new term. Change is that many Filipino people are yearning for this to ensue. What change they are referring about? Change of government, change of how it will be going to synergize the masses for a common direction in our goal that we are striving for. Leaders must avoid invested personal interest as they rendered services to people and to the nation and sense of selfishness for the amelioration of our realm. This is our view. These are our ideal values we necessitate to have. These our good motives to the nations. We are still hopeful of what will happen to our nation albeit anxiousness seemed to be within us, but we must face it vehemently. With this, in one booming voice, we can claim to the world that we are the builders of this nation. We are the one who cultivates the bountiful resources and priceless wealth and brings our land to productive and competitive nation that we can proud of.

On my personal view, I was excruciating by myriad of concerns in our government in the status quo. It seems to be that I am living in a perilous world full of anxieties and vicissitudes. These concerns sometimes obstructed me to live comfortably in this place. But I came to realize that I must not be slave of this situation. I must move forward of what is essential for the present. I must not be so engrossed of what things made me pressured because of my past and so worried about what will happen for tomorrow. I must live my life to the fullest extent here and now by using available resources to its maximum capacity. It is not a focal point to ponder of what our country can provide you and uplift your life status; instead it is your attitude and demeanor matters with regards to its final destiny.

As a mundane citizen of this country where I live my life, my dreams and my possessions, I must serve her in response to her unyielding gift and bountiful natural resources. By just doing my simple obligations and responsibilities, I can share to her that I am a builder of her enduring envisions and intended destiny. It is one way to show to her that I take care of her possessions and priceless wealth. I shall not be a person blaming all these negative concerns and miseries I experience to the government alone or to other people; instead I must focus to my concern and of what I can contribute to her progress and productive fate. It is a challenge for me to conquer for and to live by. It is my role as a builder of this nation’s destiny. Before I end this reflection of mine I want to share this thought from the former president of United States of America, John F. Kennedy, “Do not ask what the country can do for you but ask yourselves what you can do for the country.”

Basic Organization and Management

Great leadership is a lifestyle, not a technique. It seems to be an irony in the field of organization and management but it makes these entities meaningful. Leadership is a gift then that will help boast to the morale and goals of certain organization. This leadership may work hand in hand possibly to make and uplift the organization with the aid of management. Management may define as the process that managers follow in order to accomplish organizational goals. Yes, this is true. But this statement is an old tradition, an apollonian culture, so structured, boring. With that, we can still avoid this dilemma by putting something within that will provide and create an environment conducive for humanistic in nature and approach. Thus, management is the process of reaching organizational goals by working with and through people and other organizational resources. This only be possible if the organization itself manifests harmonious relationship and collaboration among people who meet in certain situation with common interest and goal. It upholds the idea of proliferating the concept of synergy for them to attain goals in one, easy way. Moreover, it gives direction and pathway towards its ends – efficient output. It also posits the personal communication needed in cultivating and nourishing such relationship and keeping them on track.
How this effective leadership possible? It is a paradoxical statement that this entity is a lifestyle and not a technique. It is due to the fact that in management it can be both a science and an art. We perform creativity which manifests art and being systematic to be a science. Because of this process it becomes scientific in a sense. It is also commendable that in management, purpose must properly define. Whether you are planning a major project at work or thinking about where you want to be in ten years, a clear purpose is your true north by which to navigate as conditions change. It is a way also to know your world. Continuously seek to understand what’s happening in the world, the economy, your industry and even in your organization. Recognize what motivates people to act. And most important know yourself – and the world around you. Try to concentrate. Focus. Set your mind. Shut out distractions. Set personal boundaries. Don’t let people steal your time and don’t give it away easily. This lifestyle will surely lead you to the acme of success, of reaching more heights and creating more and higher dreams not only for your own sake but also to the organization as a whole.

Every day you have to decide who’s going to pay for your leadership – you or your people. To do such, you must know the shape of your sheep to make sure they are in the right fold. This will not only refer to people involved but also to the areas wherein people are involved. These areas of management may identify the distinctive and peculiar yet inter-related of giving formal assignments of authority and responsibility to job holders. Indentifying such circumstances will make people delegation an effective and efficient way in overcoming any problem in the way towards its ultimate goal. These areas must go hand in hand to accomplish organizational goals as much as in efficient way. Finance is more inclined and assigned on areas which the primary concern is finance or money matters. Marketing is designed to guide managers in getting products or services to customers and in encouraging customers to buy. It includes the products, the place, the price and the promotion. Operation or production involves the activities necessary to produce and deliver a service as well as a physical product or activities such as purchasing, transportation and other operations from procurement of raw materials until a product is available to the buyer. Human resource is at the center of such endeavors because it is indeed in need in all areas of management. It involves people, public relation and employees connected or part and parcel of an organization. These areas are being encircled or enclosed by ethical standard that serves as a guiding principle in performing specific tasks.

Knowing these areas, it will be a good start of making demarcation on job descriptions and limitations. It is more acceptable to focus on one thing at a time. And this is present in this subject matter. Multitasking is creating when you are going back and forth between complicated assignments or projects, it is impossible to focus properly each one. This idea that I have read from one book, it is also called “task switching”. It is an action that itself requires time and energy. According to the study, depending on how many tasks you are juggling, you could be losing 20 to 40 percent of your time, because you have to reengage your focus and thoughts.
Both life and work requires a certain amount of juggling. This makes life an extraordinary. Few days play out in an orderly, linear sequence. In business context, speaking on the phone to a client or colleagues while you’re reading a report or typing an e-mail might not rest you that much. However, doing so while you’re preparing a report for your department might be possible to happen. At the very least it will slow you down and result in subpar work. To increase your focus and performance when concentration is critical, cut down on the multitasking addiction. Organize your work so that you can do one thing at a time and do it well. The payoff will be substantial. Indeed, indentifying different areas of management is a fundamental task in ensuring the efficiency of these areas so as to achieve certain goals to its desired perspective.

Knowing the conditions of your flock is a necessary endeavor that a manager should manifest. A manager with necessary management skills will probably perform well be relatively successful. One without necessary skills will probably perform poorly and be relatively unsuccessful. Keep your eyes and ears open, question and follow through proves the healthy communication and relationship brought by this kind of positive intention. Making some points to distinguish specific roles, different levels of management is more possibly the more effectiveness and efficiency of achieving goals. On this way you can follow the status of your people as well as the status of work.

Top management is in need much of the conceptual skills wherein it involves the ability to see the organization as a whole. On the other hand, in this level of management only little emphasis is given to technical skills. Consequently, the bottom management who supervise the operational activities of the organization is in need much of the technical skills which are mostly related to working with processes. As one moves from lower level to upper level management, conceptual skills become more important and technical skills less important. The supportive rationale is that as managers advance in organization, they become less involved with guiding the organization as a whole. However, middle management located at the mid-layer of the management level needs much human skills with equal distribution of technical and conceptual skills. This becomes a very helpful to the management levels for it mediates and acts as the bridge between top-management and bottom-management. We can assess that human skills, however, are extremely important to managers at top, middle and bottom levels. It is indeed that the common denominator of all management levels, after all, is people.

This way you can get to know your flock, one sheep at a time. It is a way to keep in touch or stay in touch with your sheep. No matter how high up in your organization you are, look for ways to get in touch with your company’s clients and customers, or with your group for easy delegation of tasks and work assignments.

Letting your sheep know and identify with you and your organization. From this point of reference, the members of the organization will not be lost in the line. You must share same vision and setting same goals and objectives to avoid conflicts and problems to occur. This is particularly happened in planning. Planning has a big impact on the accomplishing of the organizational goals. It is not something that can be attained just in a snap of a finger. It is planned well. This would be the primary foundation in managing an organization. Planning involves choosing tasks that must be performed to attained organizational goals, outlining how the task must be performed and indicating when they should be performed. Planning focuses on attaining goals that is why as early as possible, planning objectives and sets of strategies are being settled. This will serve as a guiding principle or direction to the success of the organizational goals. These goals and objectives serve as a motivational force that motivates the people to act. Consequently, it must be SMARTER – Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time bounded, Exciting and Rewarding.

Before setting any important goal, it helps to look at the big picture. Your goals will likely change over time. That’s expected. Just don’t lose sight of them. Looking at the big picture will help you understand where you are today- and how to get where you want to be tomorrow. It is also a concrete representation of having an initial step towards making organizational activities to build trust among your followers by modeling authenticity, integrity and compassion. Subsequently, you may define the cause for your people and tell them where they fit in. In starting the plan, you yourself as a leader must provide a proper and distinct boundary between your professional and personal life. On the other hand, vis-à-vis to that argument I may agree that leadership is more effective not just professional but more importantly by personal. Thus, this may lead in delivering strategic value in planning.

The structure and strategic design portrays a great importance as well as the entities needed for the realization of ones objectives. This is possible and part of organizing. This makes its goal and consequently the primary foundation of its structure. Tasking, giving of information, assigning of roles to be acted upon and even willingness to accept responsibility and accountability are expected and seemed to be a good work, motivation and organize structure towards the accomplishment of its goal. Its design is made to clarify what to do, who is to do, which task and who is responsible for the results. The proper adherence of dissemination is much important. This would be done in order to renounce obstacles to performance caused by confusion and uncertainty of assignment and to furnish decision making and communication networks reflecting and supporting organizational objectives.  Indeed, because of this confrontation and treatment in handling such enterprise, surely, it will build a dynamic organization. In this way, keeping your people well informed would be a tremendous task. Another thing is that by infusing every position with importance is a challenge to satisfy the needs of the followers and of the organization as well. With this, the expectation of achieving the goals is on its highest degree of potentiality.

Nevertheless, leading is concerned primarily with people within the organization. It involves in guiding the activities of organization members in appropriate directions. An appropriate direction is any direction that helps the organization move forward toward goal attainment. It is also a way to inform the organization where you’re going, getting out in front and keeping your flock on the move. Notwithstanding, the value of confidence is being developed. Thus, makes them free to choose certain actions for the betterment of the group but make sure they know where the fence is, the limitations. Don’t confuse boundaries with bridles. When your people get in trouble, go and get them out. Even small misunderstandings can snowball into conflicts. It’s up to you not to let these snowballs turn into avalanches. The minute you see the confusion or conflict about to snowball into something bigger, face it head-on. Avoid blaming and finger – pointing, which only make things unused. It’s a manifestation of shirking responsibility which somehow akin to what we sinners, human being, possessing with. We should therefore avoid such deportment in carrying our responsibility to avoid conflicts.

This predicament of the organization is not yet finished. Still, it is need to instill in moving forward and going upward – pursuing more heights, striding more opportunities and painting more innovations for its sustainability. That is why controlling is present. Controlling is an ongoing process. Managers gather information that measures recent performance within the organization. He compares present performance to preestablished performance standards and from this comparison; he determines whether the organization should be modified to meet pre-established standards. Thus, in doing so, it may enliven the organization into the rod of correction. It is a continuing process, after all, that in everything may happen. Stand in the gap and fight for your sheep. Approach discipline as a teaching opportunity. Regularly, inquire about your people’s progress.  This makes you to become one with the people and of the organization. The visions you shared are the strings that attached within you and the group.

Nothing is more frustrating than reaching the finish line of an organizational goal and discovering that somewhere in the journey you took a left instead of a right and lost your way. This shows the ups and downs and different encounters we have living in the organization. I emphasized living for the leadership is a lifestyle not just a technique. All the vicissitudes and tribulations are life’s lesson to be learned and to experience. The point is, what ever and whoever we or the other, just believe and have a heart. We are not just an embodied subjectivity but we are rational, spiritual being is a sense. This lifestyle is not only for management as it discussed but more applicable to life for its nature is life per se.
