Another Day to Start With

Learn to say “no”. Be selective. Taking on too many commitments unable you to do your very best on each one.

As a social being, I tend to relate myself to others, building good rapport with them, cultivating relationship and making friends could be. This is how I see life as a person. No man is an island, they should say. But out of the mundane idea, it makes me realize that I could not please everyone. Making yes to what others want me to be or to do will please them. However, I am not here to be slave of what others want me. It may destroy my existence as a rational being. And I don’t want it to happen. I must learn also to say “”no” sometimes. It could be in times of my unavailability, if it is out of my capacity, if it lacks of preparation.

Saying yes to many good things may one of the devil’s tricks. This will end up in mediocrity in everything and excellent in nothing. This is so because it will lead someone to lose focus in certain aspect. In life we need also to focus. Saying no may not mean to be doing never. No may mean not right now. Saying no to lesser things can mean saying yes to priorities in your life. Thus, learn to say no. It is not an act of fear or anxiety rather it is an act of giving priorities to higher values and a decision to do the best you can.

Pray for a change. Pray about every choice you make.

Prayer is a powerful way that really a mystery for me. Only my faith can testify how it works to my life. It is a good start to pray in making decision. Even in starting your day, prayer will make it some kind of miraculous way. Prayer as a personal conversation with God to whom we believe is the best way to live our daily life. It may bring you peace of mind because your faith will guide and tell you that there is someone who will guard you.

Amazing things start happening when we start praying. Prayer time is never wasted time. Prayers can’t be answered until they are prayed. Begin to realize more and more that prayer is the most important thing to do. You can use your time to no better advantage than to pray whenever you have an opportunity to do so either alone or with others, while at work, while at rest, while walking at the street. Everywhere!

Personally, there were times in my life that somehow prayer is my shield and my faith in my heart. It was usually happened in my spiritual dryness. It seemed that life for me is meaningless, futile, pointless direction. It somehow holds me up with despair. However, in prayer by just asking for “Help!”, it made me realize how it really works and how miracle makes a way. This makes me prove how God’s intervention through prayer helps me a lot. This makes prayer change not just for a change.
